Members of Local 1824, volunteering their time this Christmas season with the Salvation Army in the 2011 Christmas red Kettle campaign. " Giving Hope Today"
A team of 9 members were put together by committee organizer Cyril Barry, Vice president of local 1824. Those who participated in this event gave up 2 hours of their time on Dec 8th, 15th, and the 22nd anywhere from 10am - 8pm. On behalf of the Union and Major Harvey Canning from the Salvation Army in Cambridge, ON. We would like to thank the following people for all your help in making this possible. Dave Hamilton (painter), James Elliot (glazier), Steve Talpai (glazier), Scott Heidi (painter), Krista Heidi, Don McDougall (glazier), Cyril Barry (organizer), Brady Barry (Cyril's son) and Ken Reid (Business Agent local 1824).
We all made a difference in so many people's lives this holiday season. We look forward to doing this again next year with more members, what a great feeling it is to give back!
Painters and Allied Trades continue to make a difference within the community.
